Coach Gegenheimer is in his 17th year of coaching at Prior lake High School, twelve of which he has been the Head Coach.  Coach Gegenheimer has led the Lakers to four State Tournament Appearances (2011, 2012, 2014, 2017) and won two Conference Titles (2012, 2017).  The Laker football program has thrived under Coach Gegenheimer’s philosophy of “Livin’ Right” which puts an emphasis on Athletics, Academics, Social Choices, and doing the right thing both on and off the field. 

Coach Gegenheimer is also very involved with USA Football, where he has coached in multiple events for the U.S. National Football Team, including some Head Coaching opportunities.  Coach Gegenheimer is a Regional Master Trainer for USA Football and travels across the country speaking to football coaches at all levels about USA Football’s initiative, Head’s Up Football.    

Coach Gegenheimer is a P.E. Teacher at Prior Lake High School and the Strength and Conditioning Coach for all sports at PLHS.  Coach Gegenheimer graduated from Iowa State University with an Exercise Science Degree, he is a Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. 

Coach Gegenheimer and his wife Danielle have three sons Aidan (12), Ryan (11), and Brady (8).
